Bio

Bringing a fresh sound and roaring energy to every stage he steps foot on, AJ is most definitely at home with a microphone in his hand and a crowd to entertain.

He started his career in the year 2000 as an MC learning his art form over drum & bass and garage music. After 10 years of putting pen to paper and performing his own material on stage, he created his first hip hop album in 2010, The Way I See It, this was followed by Lycricologist in 2011. With a more relaxed story telling approach he had finally found his own unique style with a new take on 90’s hip hop.

A trip around India, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Bali, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia and Australia inspired AJ’s third album, Tangle Your Cassette. Recorded in Adelaide in 2012, it reflects life experiences and encounters related to his travels. Delivering clever tongue in cheek word play whilst retaining the integrity of producing music that all ages can relate to.

AJ created a video blog during his time in Asia which recorded freestyle raps at the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China, and performances in Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia.

The latest album to join AJ’s collection is playfully titled The Never Ending Weekender, recorded in Melbourne and released in 2013. A collaboration with Lotek, saw the creation of a Reggae styled Hip Hop album based on the trials and tribulations of doing your thing over the weekend; this album takes the listener on a journey from clocking off work Friday afternoon and going raving to meeting up with a lady for a first date, all the way back to the feelings that Monday morning induces.

Upon returning from his trip, AJ formed a band ' AJ Live'. This band is a unique collaboration that performs tracks from AJ's catalogue and consists of various vocalists and musicians playing keys, guitar, bass and drums playing live to varying audiences.

AJ’s style has developed over the years and he now boasts a catalogue of music influenced by many genres. With four albums that are primarily hip hop, he has the ability to host a range of events and festivals whether the music is drum & bass, dubstep, house, reggae, garage or anything in between!

AJ prides himself on his passion and knowledge of the industry and his ability to deliver a mellow vibe of easy going rap style that audiences young and old can relate to. He is always heavily involved with the conceptual backdrop to his videos and works as tirelessly behind the scenes as he does in front of the camera. He performs regularly throughout the UK and has built up a dedicated following from those that appreciate the inclusive energy he brings to the stage.

With over 10 years in the industry and performances across the globe and with four albums to his credit it would be fair to say that you haven’t experienced AJ until you’ve seen him perform live.
